As student-athletes of Cal State Fullerton, there are a couple of events throughout the semester that are mandatory for us to go. At these events all division 1 student-athletes representing the school are required to go. Today’s event was “Career Day”, an event in the gymnasium full of people representing different companies such as Nike, The Sheriff’s Department, Kings pro, Pepsi, etc. To “Career day” we dress up and bring a resume. We then have mock interviews, ask for advice about the companies and how the people got the jobs. It is an effective event as student-athletes can get professional head-shots and contact information for the future.
I personally was super interested in Nike and their sportswear designing team. I was also very interested in Long Beach State’s Sports post graduate management program. This was beneficial for me to get an understanding of possible opportunities for my future.
